Herbal Medicine from the Heart of the Earth by Dr. Sharol Tilgner
-
This was one of my first herb books and it remains on my shelf today as a valuable resource. You can look up imbalances (aka diseases) and she lists examples of herbal formulas you can blend at home. There’s a summary of plant uses in the front too.

Saunders Nursing Drug Manual - Recent Edition
-
I have an older printed version and the ebook version of the 2025 edition. It’s great to have this book around as a reference if you are a practitioner so you can cross-reference what herbs and pharmaceuticals are contraindicated, or to better understand why a client is on a certain drug, or where it is metabolized in their body. The digital copy is useful for quick-look up.

-
Making Plant Medicine by Richo Cech
-
I highly recommend you check out the herbal medicine section of your local library!
-
